Applewood’s SPEAKEASY program is now on hold until further notice as a result of COVID-19.
Due to overwhelming demand and success, we will be opening this back up as soon as we possibly can.
Applewood Academy & Daycare is commited to an academic based program and we are the only private school & daycare in the area that offers this type of program.
Other daycares and child care centers are play based. Play based is a program where children are encouraged to learn through playing without any formal instruction or lessons.
Academic based programs focus on the basic fundamentals such as numbers, colours, shapes, animals, proper behaviour as well as instruction & support in learning how to eat with utensils.
We believe that our children are thriving in this type of environment and were surprised that so many parents were unaware of the play based learning programs that dominate the surrounding centers.
